The radio show “This American Life” commemorates 20 years since the death of Harold Washington with an extremely interesting look back at Chicago’s first black mayor – and discusses the effect that Washington had on a young community organizer named Barack Obama. Turns out David Axelrod, Obama’s closest advisor, was also Harold Washington’s campaign chief.

He’s using the Bulls’ intro music as he takes the stage (he even has the Bulls’ announcer saying “Please welcome YOUR President of the United States of America…”). Yeah, I know, I’m a sucker for that Chicago rah-rah stuff. But still…Obama’s sounding better. Check it out.
